Jamel Johnson-Brookins is a Senior at Mercer University who needs assistance to continue his education at Mercer. He is a Biomedical Engineering major, supported by a single parent. During his tenure at Mercer, his mother suffered a heart attack. His younger brother underwent open heart surgery to mend a birth defect in his value. The medical bills placed a big strain on his family. All of Jamel’s income has gone to help his mother ease this strain. Jamel has consistently used his income since he was 15 to help his mother with medical, housing and utility bills.
Karen and Charles Phillips Charitable provided a grant so Jamel could continue his engineering studies.
Karen and Charles Phillips Charitable Organizations is a 501(c)3 non-profit that was created to provide timely financial aid for single parents, disadvantaged students interested in engineering, and wounded veterans.
