RJ Willis was one of the early recipients of a PCO grant to for students interested in engineering. Karen and Charles Phillips Charitable provided a grant to support his continued studies at a private high school academy in Atlanta.
The hard work and studies paid off and for RJ and he graduates with honors. At his Senior Award’s Banquet, a representative from the U.S. Naval Academy presented RJ with the official appointment by the U.S President Barack Obama and Congress, the scholarship and a blue and gold medallion engraved with his name and the Class of 2017 He received numerous awards including Superintendent’s Citizenship Award, Super Honor Role, Omega Psi Phi Scholarship, Outstanding Math Award, HOSA MVP Award, Peachtree City Running Club Award, Track recognition and much more.
RJ also received a nomination to West Point but has decided to go to the Naval Academy.
